Griffith Observatory & the LA Arboretum Engagement

I would love to say Congratulations to Emily and Kevin! They are so cute and adorable and we had so much fun yesterday roaming around the LA Arboretum grounds taking engagement pics.

Have I ever told you how important engagement photos are? Not just so that you can get photos but so that you can get comfortable with the camera and so that we can get to know each other better! It makes all the difference knowing that a stranger won’t be taking your wedding day images and puts you at ease with the process – not to mention that you know if you hired a quality photographer or not by the quality of the engagement photos.

Well, we got to know Emily & Kevin much more yesterday and I am so glad! I happen to know now that Kevin will laugh over anything Simpsons or Family Guy or that they have been together for over 10 years (since high school), stuck it out through Kevin’s multiple deployments, got engaged by the statue in front of the griffith observatory and are getting married this July!

After the Arboretum we headed over to the Griffith Observatory where Kevin Proposed to Emily and took a few pictures where she said “Yes!”

The sun dropped fast and we were able to get a few photos of the amazing sunset. We weren’t actually planning on going this long so I didn’t bring a flash with me but I think we were able to Get some cool shots with the video light I had! I love night photos and I just adore the ones with the LA city lights in the background.
