Dallas & Susie’s Destination Wedding at Lake Tahoe
Although we live in bright, sunny southern California we still tend to get quite a handful of amazing Lake Tahoe or Northern California weddings. This was no exception!
Susie & Dallas got married at the Valhalla Estate right next to the waters edge. Can you say AH-Mazing?? The colors were changing and there was a crispness in the air that you
can only get up in the mountains. Everything was perfect for this Autumn wedding.
Out of all the places in the world, Susie & Dallas decided to have their destination wedding at Lake Tahoe with the Blue water and fall colors. Guests poured in from all over america…
Washington, Alabama, California, Nevada and more all to watch them tie the knot. The thing I love most about Susie & Dallas is how laid back they both are. There was no throwing
of the garter or bouquet and the cake was made of doughnuts and had the cutest wire skiers on top symbolizing more to them than most people will ever know.
We arrived early – before makeup and hair had even been started and it was FABULOUS!! Most brides have us arrive right at the end of hair and makeup and we
rush to get photos of getting ready and all the special details. Susie was lounging around, eating her favorite food (bacon) while chatting and having a good time with her mom,
aunts, grandma, soon to be Mother-in-law & Sister-in-law and many special friends. It was a great vibe and we were able to get all the details shot
with plenty of time to meet all the family.
Since we had so much time, both photographers headed over to the Groom. Dallas and his dad were the only ones there, watching the Auburn College ball game.
It wasn’t exactly going their way so I told them they should turn it off and not allow it to put a damper on the day. It was so cute when his dad said
“There’s nothing that could ruin this day” and he was right.
Another giant plus was that this wedding had exactly 2 (yup – count em’) in the bridal party. Susie had her brother stand up for her and Dallas had his sister stand up for him.
It was such a breeze and reduces the stress of a wedding the fewer maids and men that you have. Plus, it takes less time to do bridal party photos!
I thought that this was a cute idea. They had guests highlight favorite passages in a bible which they keep.
We knew that with all the friends and family that were there to celebrate, there would be some really fun dancing going on. We were not disappointed!! Everyone, old and
young got out there and danced the night away.
We hope you enjoyed this post and don’t forget to leave us a comment if you know the happy couple. We really appreciate hearing from you all!
Cheers!
