Part 2 – Griffith Observatory

For the second part of Denise + John’s Engagement session we went to the Griffith Observatory. Have you ever tried going to the Griffith Observatory during sunset? In the summer? Yeah, it’s almost impossible. I had a feeling that we were going to have some issues but I had no idea it was going to be as busy as it was. It took 10 minutes to drive the 1 mile before the Griffith Observatory and when we got to the top there were cops blocking the road sending people away because the lot was full. So we drove down the road… Downhill… for a mile or 2. There were no parking spots and it was hike back up to the observatory. Then if we had walked back up we would be unable to to get a shot without a million people in the background. So, we opted to keep driving down the hill until we came to a pull out just beyond all the cars. Then we walked the opposite direction and up a small hill. It was perfect! We had a city view, the sunset, the Hollywood sign and the Griffith Observatory all in different directions! WOW! What an amazing find. One that I plan on using again!
